Cookie Policy
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Inovacijų dialogas, MB ("Vantemo", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our primary website (vantemo.com) and use our platform (dashboard.vantemo.com).
This policy explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Vantemo) are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies". Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g., advertising, interactive content, and analytics). We also use other tracking technologies like local storage (localStorage) to remember your preferences.
3. Merchant Storefronts vs. Vantemo.com
Crucial Distinction: This Cookie Policy applies only to Vantemo's own corporate domains (e.g., vantemo.com, dashboard.vantemo.com).
If you are an end-customer visiting an online store powered by Vantemo (e.g., a merchant's custom domain or a .vantemo.com subdomain), the cookies used on that storefront are controlled by the merchant (the store owner), not by Vantemo. Store owners are solely responsible for obtaining necessary consents and providing their own cookie policies. If you have questions about cookies on a specific merchant's store, please contact that merchant directly.
4. Types of cookies and trackers we use
4.1 Strictly Necessary Trackers
These trackers are strictly necessary to provide you with services available through our website and to use some of its features, such as accessing secure areas, remembering your privacy preferences, and monitoring platform stability. Because these are strictly necessary to deliver the website to you, you cannot refuse them.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
session_id | Secure session token that keeps merchants securely authenticated while navigating the Vantemo dashboard. Accessible only via HTTP (httpOnly) and restricted to top-level navigations (SameSite=Lax). | 8 hours | First-party Cookie |
vantemo-cookie-consent | Stores the user's cookie consent state for the current domain so the banner does not repeatedly show. | Persistent (until browser data is cleared) | Local Storage |
| Sentry (error monitoring) | Error monitoring and performance tracing via the Sentry browser SDK, which runs in your browser on every page. It captures JavaScript errors, failed network requests, and a small sample of performance traces, and sends these reports (including stack traces) directly from your browser to Sentry so we can detect and fix crashes quickly. It is essential for platform stability and security. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device (no localStorage or sessionStorage), so no ePrivacy consent is required; the processing itself relies on our legitimate interest in keeping the platform stable and secure (GDPR Art 6(1)(f)). Sentry's optional screen-recording feature (Session Replay) is not part of this strictly-necessary tracker — it runs only after you opt in (see §4.3). | Not stored on your device | Browser SDK (no cookies) |
4.2 Functional Cookies (Dashboard) — set at your request, consent-exempt
When you are signed in to the merchant dashboard (dashboard.vantemo.com), we set a few first-party functional cookies that remember your interface preferences and which store you last worked on. They carry no analytics or advertising data. These cookies are set only in response to your own actions — resizing a panel, opening the AI assistant, switching stores — and each one is strictly necessary to deliver that preference you requested (ePrivacy Art 5(3)), so no consent banner is required; we list them here separately from the strictly necessary trackers above for transparency.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
last_shop_handle | Remembers the store you last opened so the dashboard can return you to it on your next visit. Set only on the dashboard domain, accessible only via HTTP (httpOnly) and restricted to top-level navigations (SameSite=Lax). | 30 days | First-party Cookie |
admin:sidebarWidth | Remembers how wide you set the dashboard navigation sidebar. | 1 year | First-party Cookie |
admin:chatWidth | Remembers how wide you set the AI assistant chat panel. | 1 year | First-party Cookie |
admin:chatOpen | Remembers whether the AI assistant chat panel is open or collapsed. | 1 year | First-party Cookie |
4.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies (vantemo.com marketing pages)
On our vantemo.com marketing pages, these trackers collect information that is used either in aggregate form to help us understand how the site is being used, or to help us customize it for you. We only activate them if you explicitly opt-in via our consent banner (see §5.1). The separate analytics on the signed-in dashboard is described in §4.4.
| Tool / Provider | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| PostHog (PostHog Inc.) | Product analytics and feature adoption analysis. On our vantemo.com marketing pages we use this to understand aggregate visitor behavior and improve the product. PostHog stores its identifiers in localStorage (not cookies) and does not set any cookies on your browser. (Analytics on the signed-in dashboard is handled separately under §4.4.) | posthog.com/privacy |
| Sentry Session Replay (Functional Software, Inc.) | When an error occurs, Sentry can record a masked, video-like playback of the DOM leading up to the crash to help us reproduce and fix it. All text is masked and all images and media are blocked in recordings. This DOM recording activates only after you opt in via our consent banner; it is never loaded before consent. The essential Sentry error monitoring in §4.1 is separate: it runs from page load as a strictly-necessary tracker and sends error reports and performance traces from your browser, but it never records your screen — only this masked replay does, and only once you have opted in. | sentry.io/privacy |
On our marketing pages we also store two first-party attribution keys in your browser's local storage once you opt in — vantemo_utm_last and vantemo_utm_initial — which record the ad campaign, referrer, and click identifiers (such as UTM parameters) that brought you to us, so we can measure which campaigns lead to sign-ups. They are written only after you accept analytics, and are read with a 90-day window (after which they are treated as stale). They are not cookies and are not shared with third parties.
4.4 Dashboard Product Analytics (Legitimate Interest)
When you are signed in to the merchant dashboard (dashboard.vantemo.com), we run PostHog product analytics to understand how merchants use the platform so we can improve it. Unlike the analytics on our marketing pages (§4.3), this is not gated behind the consent banner: we rely on our legitimate interest in monitoring and improving our own platform for the merchants who hold accounts with us (GDPR Art 6(1)(f)). We are not tracking end-customers here.
This dashboard analytics runs in a memory-only mode that stores no cookies and writes no identifiers to your device's storage — session recording is also disabled, so we never record dashboard sessions (which display orders, customer emails, and inventory). Because no information is stored on or read from your device, the consent requirements in §4.3 do not apply to this dashboard analytics. Your dashboard events are linked to your signed-in merchant account (including your account email) so we can analyse them per account; how long we retain that analytics data is governed by our Privacy Policy. You have the right to object to this processing at any time (GDPR Article 21); to do so, or to ask us about it, contact [email protected].
5. How can you control cookies?
5.1 Consent Banner
When you first visit our vantemo.com marketing site, you are presented with a banner allowing you to accept or decline non-essential trackers. This banner controls the analytics and attribution trackers described in §4.3 — PostHog analytics, our UTM attribution keys, and Sentry Session Replay. Your preference is saved locally in your browser (the vantemo-cookie-consent key).
- Accept: Enables the §4.3 marketing trackers — PostHog analytics, UTM attribution capture, and Sentry Session Replay — to help us improve the platform.
- Decline: Disables all of those §4.3 trackers (no PostHog, no UTM capture, no Session Replay). Only the strictly necessary trackers in §4.1 — session authentication and the Sentry error monitoring — continue to run.
Change your settings: You can revisit your consent choices and withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link located in the footer of our website. This will reopen the consent banner, allowing you to update your preferences.
This banner applies to our vantemo.com marketing pages. The product analytics on the signed-in dashboard (§4.4) operates on a legitimate-interest basis and is not controlled by this banner; see §4.4 for how to object.
5.2 Browser Controls
You can also set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies globally. If you choose to reject cookies via your browser, you may still use our website, though your access to some functionality and areas of our website (particularly the authenticated dashboard) will be severely restricted, as the session_id session cookie — and the functional cookies described in §4.2 — will be blocked. As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser-to-browser, you should visit your browser's help menu for more information.
6. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to the cookies we use (such as adding new advertising pixels or analytics tools) or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please re-visit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.
